His possession.

I know it is not meant this way, but receiving mail addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Peter S never fails to irk me. What year is it, anyway?

This month and a half of cold, snow and wind is getting out of control. Today, I was driving with extreme difficulty in ~100kms/hr wind as the traffic lights flipped backwards. I found my umbrella (that was sitting on the porch) atop a tree down the block. This tree down the block was toppled and as I snapped the pic, it started to hail.

I haven't been able to bring myself to visit Stanley Park yet. *sob*

Poetry love

"Now, after all these years,
I'm becoming literate in the other language.
My feet know the twist of knobby spruce roots.
My hands caress soft moss beds.
I've smelled leaf mould on autumn mist,
tasted sun-hot blueberries.
And, occasionally, as I touch,
taste,
and listen,
the boundary between nature and me becomes a threshold:
I step across.
The wild either slips into me,
or comes leaping up,
like a silver fish,
flashing out of my own dark wildness "

I am an official social worker!

In 2 hours, I will have finished my final paper of my final course.
I want to weep with pleasure.
All I need to do is keep it together so I don't fall into my martini from exhaustion afterward.

It's snowing!
Here's hoping work will be cancelled, as anything more than a centimeter throws the city into mayhem.
I want it to stick so badly! Then we can have hot toddies and go tobogganing on the huge hill by our house.
Oh please Oh please!

I can see the light at the end.
No more readings.
One more week and 20 pages of writing to go.
My heart is getting lighter with each word.

much better than homework and stolen from all over.

France Modern (trois fleurs-de-lis)
You are 'French'. In the nineteenth century, it
was the international language of diplomacy.
It is a 'beautiful' language, meaning that it
is really just a low-fidelity copy of Latin.

You know the importance of communicating
'diplomatically', which for you means both
being polite and friendly when necessary and
using sophisticated, vicious sarcasm when
appropriate. Your life is guided by either
existentialism or nihilism, depending on the
weather. You have a certain appreciation for
the finer things in life, which is a diplomatic
way of saying that you are a disgusting
hedonist. Your problem is that French has been
obsolete for a long time.

What obsolete skill are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

ummm...french is not obsolete?
but i think it sums me up quite nicely!

I'm terza rima, and I talk and smile.
Where others lock their rhymes and thoughts away
I let mine out, and chatter all the while.

I'm rarely on my own - a wasted day
Is any day that's spent without a friend,
With nothing much to do or hear or say.

I like to be with people, and depend
On company for being entertained;
Which seems a good solution, in the end.
What Poetry Form Are You?
